| The Grad
Nite Live celebration is an alcohol/drug-free event that presents the
seniors with many opportunities to socialize with their friends in a
dynamic, unforgettable manner. The seniors are welcomed into the school
beginning at 11:00 pm - although it is always hard for them to believe
that this is their school. Completely transformed to fit a theme each
year, in years past,
they have stepped aboard a cruise ship, into Dr. Seussland
to celebrate “the places you will go,” onto Bourbon Street in downtown
New Orleans at Mardi Gras time, into a Morrocan adventure right out
of Casablanca, and through a time tunnel to experience Egyptian pharaohs
and the Wild West. The theme for each year is kept a secret until the
community preview held the night of Grad Nite Live, Saturday, June 7th
from 7:00 - 9:00pm. The entire community, family and friends are invited
to come and see the magic created this year - just before the seniors
get to experience it firsthand.
But the fun doesn’t
stop with the theme ---- there is also a casino, a movie theatre,
music and dancing, sports activities including inflatables, fortune-telling,
hair and nail art, temporary tattoos, an outdoor courtyard, caricatures
and a buffet of unlimited food and soft drinks. Cash and prizes are
raffled off to seniors at 4 am, just before the party ends at 5:00
am. Grad Nite Live is a once in a lifetime experience that provides
seniors a rich treasure trove of memories to build upon as they move
into the next chapter of their lives.
